Education Beyond Borders: The Experience of the Marketing Department in MilanRecently, Dnipro University of Technology Marketing Department team returned from Milan (Italy), where they visited the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) as part of the Erasmus+ international academic mobility programme. This business trip was not merely a step towards expanding our partnership network, but a true immersion into an international teaching experience and a powerful exchange of professional energy.
Intensive Practical Workshop for Italian Students Our lecturers conducted an intensive practical module on modern marketing for the students at IED. Instead of dry theory, the emphasis was placed on live interaction, team discussions, and the analysis of real-life case studies.
During the classes, the Italian students learnt how to build a Customer Journey Map, improve customer experience using Service Blueprint and SERVQUAL tools, develop effective communication strategies, and build their own professional brand on LinkedIn. The ability of students from other countries to immediately apply new tools and generate creative ideas convinced our team of the high efficiency of this learning format.
New Opportunities for the Dnipro University of Technology Community The most valuable outcome of the visit was the new prospects for our university. A key stage of the trip involved strategic meetings with the IED management: • With the Deputy Academic Director, Stefano Carta Vasconcellos, the department representatives discussed ambitious plans: creating joint programmes, developing Erasmus+ projects, and implementing the COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) format. • With the International Mobility Programs Supervisors, Ivana Mazzi and Elena Longoni, they moved on to practical steps: discussing mechanisms for integrating joint courses, expanding academic exchange programmes, and involving students in international activities.
Cultural Context and Outcomes of the Visit The team drew inspiration for new lectures and ideas not only from interacting with young people but also from exploring Milan's cultural and creative spaces, particularly during their visit to the ADI Design Museum. The results of the trip included new professional knowledge, specific agreements on cooperation, and an understanding that the future is built through joint efforts. This visit proved once again that Dnipro University of Technology is an integral and active part of the global academic community. |
